Main responsibilities:

Switzerland (Lucerne Area) 

  • Development and update of Systems Safety analysis for Complex Electronic Architectures following ARP 4761.  
  • Leading technical discussions within the Design Organization and Systems suppliers from the Safety Department.  

 

Germany (Munich Area) 

Position 1 

  • Development and update of Systems Safety analysis at Aircraft Level (AFHA, PASA, ASA, CMA, PRAs) 
  • Leading technical discussions within the Design Organization and Systems suppliers from the Safety Department. 
  • Experience with autonomous systems would be considered a strong advantage. 
  • Experience with Systems of Systems would be considered a strong advantage. 

Position 2 

  • Development and update of Systems Safety analysis at Systems Level (FHA, PSSA, SSA, CMA, PRAs) 
  • Extensive experience on architecture analysis from the safety standpoint.  
  • Extensive experience with FCS (Fly By Wire), ACS (Armament Control System), Mission Systems and/or Ground Segment Systems. 

 

Spain (Madrid Area) 

  • Development and update of Systems Safety analysis at Aircraft Level, Systems Level and Ground Segment.  
  • Leading technical discussions within the Design Organization and Systems suppliers from the Safety Department.  

 

USA (Orange County) 

  • Development and update reports on System Safety Approach and support the System Safety Program Plan.  
  • Extensive experience with software safety on safety-critical systems along with knowledge of MIL-STD-882E and JSSSEH safety standards 
  • Support Design & Development Engineers as a critical partner in Functional Hazard Analysis (FHA) and Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) exercises at system level, and sub-system level for complex aircraft and ground systems.  
  • Experience with autonomous systems would be considered a strong advantage. 
  • Experience with Systems of Systems would be considered a strong advantage. 

 

USA (Virginia)

  • Conduct safety analyses such as failure hazard assessments (FHA), system safety assessments (SSA), fault tree analysis (FTA), and failure modes and effects analysis (FMEA). Evaluate the severity and likelihood of hazards, assess risks, and define risk mitigation measures.
  • Define safety-critical requirements for aircraft systems, working closely with design engineers to ensure safety considerations are incorporated into the system design.
  • Develop and maintain company and program-level safety documentation, including system safety program plans, safety assessment reports, safety analysis reports, and hazard logs.
  • Provide clear safety analysis reports to stakeholders (including regulatory bodies) to support certification and operational approval.
  • Ensure compliance with national and international aviation safety standards, including Safety of Aircraft Systems (DO-178C, DO-254) and ARP 4754A (Guidelines for the development of civil aircraft and systems).

Required qualifications and experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years Industry Experience as a Safety Engineer or equivalent engineering background 
  • M.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Systems Engineering, or Physics 
  • Knowledge of Safety Analyses applied to the aeronautical sector 
  • Experience in Safety Analyses for complex systems 
  • Ability to adapt to the company’s and projects’ specific methods and tools 
  • General knowledge of the operation and safety issues of air systems or similar technologies 
  • Proficiency in English. Spanish and German are highly recommended depending the job location.
